Kids & Teens Summer Camps
ages 6-14

All camps: $90 per participant
1st Child - $90, $85 for each additional child registered in same camp in same family​

All camps take place at SPLAT Hershey - 1669 East Derry Road, Hershey, PA 17033

Please dress-for-a-mess and wear closed-toed shoes!

Safety first please - Children should not wear sandals or flip-flops in the studio.

Kids & teens are welcome to bring to camp a water bottle and snack. Please label all items with their name.

BONUS - Participants who are signed up for both the morning and afternoon camp during any week can stay for our Lunch Bunch hour between classes with no extra fee. Lunch Bunch hour can be purchased at $10 per day/per child if they are only signed up for the morning or afternoon. ​

Please bring lunches in a disposable bag labeled with the student's name(s).

Regarding COVID-19 procedure:

Due to the lifting of mask mandates in schools, the SPLAT staff will not be required to wear masks during summer programming.
-
We leave it up to parents to decide whether they would like their children to wear masks at camp.​
Week One


Animals in Funky Hats
June 14, 15 & 16 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to draw and paint an animal with a funky hat. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided drawing and painting lesson where students will learn drawing skills and basic painting techniques like color mixing.
Painting Planets
June 14, 15 & 16 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to draw and paint an outer space scene while exploring a variety of painting techniques and mediums. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided drawing and painting lesson where students will learn drawing skills and basic painting techniques.
Week Two


Hand Building a Hand Dish
June 21, 22 & 23 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to sculpt a hand out of clay and decorate it by carving and applying glazes. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided sculpting and glazing lesson where students will learn about the properties of clay.
Fish Bowl Fun
June 21, 22 & 23 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to sculpt a fishbowl and paint a background scene. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided sculpting and painting lesson where students will learn ceramic techniques and basic painting skills.
Week Three


Summer Sandcastles
June 28, 29 & 30 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to form a three dimensional dough-based sandcastle on a canvas board. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided sculpting lesson where students will learn how compose a beach scene.
Polymer Self-Portraits
June 28, 29 & 30 from 12:30-2:30

Medium: Polymer Clay
Art Skills: Sculpting, Shaping

In this camp, students will learn to sculpt a three dimensional self portrait out of polymer clay. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided sculpting lesson where students will learn the properties of polymer clay.
Week Four


Puppet Play
July 5, 6 & 7 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to design and sew a hand puppet. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided sewing lesson where students will learn sewing techniques to form and decorate their puppet.
Fancy Folding Origami
July 5, 6 & 7 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to make a variety of origami designs. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided folding lessons where students will learn different types of folds and processes to create their own origami art.
Week Five


Pool Party Painting
July 12, 13 & 14 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to paint a pool scene on a canvas board and sculpt pool toys out of polymer clay. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided painting and sculpting lessons where students will learn basic painting and sculpting techniques.
Bird's Eye Room View
July 12, 13 & 14 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to paint a bird's eye view of a room of their choice. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided painting lessons where students will learn about perspective and basic painting techniques

Mixed Media Drawing
July 19, 20 & 21 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to draw with charcoal and paint with watercolors to create a scene of art materials. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided painting and drawing lessons where students will learn about working with charcoal and watercolors.
Optical Illusion
July 19, 20 & 21 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to create a folded optical illusion art piece where two images can be seen from different angles. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided drawing, painting, and assembly lessons where students will learn about perspective and basic drawing and painting techniques.

Paper Plant Jar
July 26, 27 & 28 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to design, draw, paint, and cut their own plants out of paper. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided drawing and painting lessons where students will learn how to work with watercolors and marker.
Nighttime Landscape
July 26, 27 & 28 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to draw a nighttime landscape design on black paper. Instructors will teach a step-by-step guided drawing lesson where students will learn about basic pastel techniques.

Prehistoric Canvas Creation
August 2, 3 & 4 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to create a mixed media prehistoric scene. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided paper mache, sculpting, and painting lessons where students will combine materials to make their final art project.
Painting with Dots
August 2, 3 & 4 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will paint an image using dots. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided painting lessons where students will learn about pointillism and basic painting techniques.
Week Nine


Silly Slimes
August 9, 10 & 11 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will learn to make their own slimes. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided slime mixing lessons where students will create and design their own unique slimes.
Crafty Creations
August 9, 10 & 11 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will create crafts using potato prints, string art, and collage. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided lessons where students will learn about how everyday objects can be used to make art.

Silhouette Bowl
August 16, 17 & 18 from 9:30-11:30

In this camp, students will to paint a silhouette design on a ceramic bowl. Instructors will teach step-by-step glazing lesson where students will learn the properties and techniques of glazing.
Bug in a Jar
August 16, 17 & 18 from 12:30-2:30

In this camp, students will learn to sculpt a bug of their choice and make a mosaic jar. Instructors will teach step-by-step guided sculpting and mosaic designing lessons where students will learn about working with clay and laying out tiles to create a design.
